BLOG CANDY!!!!

Well, I reached 4,000 hits yesterday so I think it is time to give away a little blog candy. I was at the local scrapbooking store this morning and they were running a little special. I you bought a few things from American Crafts, you got a gift with purchase. I thought this would make an excellent blog candy give away. I will send you the things I bought as well as the free gift if you leave a comment on this blog entry!

I will be pick a winner on Monday so make sure to leave a comment by then! In your comment tell me what your favorite thing to do on Memorial Day weekend is! There are a few ribbon spools, brads, buttons, some chipboard die cuts, some rub-ons, a special pen (not quite sure what it does but look pretty!) Also, not in the picture is a set of chipboard letters that would be fun for scrapbooking or cardmaking!

Good luck to you all!

Wow! I just love blog candy! Memorial Day weekend is usually spent around the pool with drink in hand and belly full of grilled hamburger! That's how I like to spend it!

My first blog candy - what fun!

My favorite thing to do Memorial Day weekend is drink beer and spend time with my family - not in that order.

Yummy candy! I am Canadian...hope that doesn't get me automatically eliminated! But I will spend memorial day feeding my newborn every two hours!!!!

Hmm.. I'm Canadian also and am looking forward to spending it with friends who are just as passionate about paper as I am. What more can a girl ask for?

Congrats on 4K !!! This holiday weekend is always such a relief -- it has been such a long stretch since the last work holiday!
I can't wait to sleep in, enjoy the warm weather and maybe take a drive and go get some fried clams or lobster somewhere by the ocean!!

I love Memorial Day weekend because my American colleagues aren't interested in working the week before or the week after! Ha! But when I lived in the States, my DH and I always went on a road trip...get some chips, some pop and you are set!

Another Canadian here, but we have a similar holiday called Victoria Day right around the same time. In fact, ours was last weekend. DH and I like to spend it taking car trips to see sights nearby. We find little cafes for coffee and nice restaurants for dinner. Good quality time for both of us.

Oh, just love your blog. And I really like the book club selection you've shown - always looking for something new to read!

Blog candy looks great - my favorite Memorial Day is a local hot air balloon festival with concerts, crafts, and food!

Since I'm Canadian, we celebrate Victoria Day weekend (last weekend) which is similiar to your Memorial Day weekend. When my son was younger we used to go camping and take in the fireworks. Now that he's 21, he goes off and does his thing and I do mine.
This weekend, I'll probably go to some yard sales and then work on reorganize my room. Great blog candy. Have a great weekend.

Memorial Day to me means first remembering those who gave their lives for our country and our freedom and second that summer has just about arrived (I'm a teacher and that means more crafting time!)

I like to get together with family for a cookout. We have so much fun just hangin out and laughing and talking about old time.

We've just celebrated Victoria day weekend up here and hope it's a close comparison to Memorial Day weekend. I spend part of the weekend running to the field helping my hubby with seeding and the other part putting in the garden. Try to find time for a little fun and family time too!

I have to join the ranks of those who are going to grill outdoors. We have family/friends over & just hang out & have fun.

We live in Oklahoma City and every year on Memorial Day weekend an artists section of the city has what they call The Peseo Festival. There is lots of art, food and music. We always go on Sat. or Mon. because on Sun. my husband has to watch the Indy 500 race.

DH went to Myrtle Beach golfing for the weekend with friends, so I've got the house to myself. Silly, but I'm actually looking forward to cleaning the house, and having it STAY clean. Then, of course, there should be plenty of stamping time.

Mmmmmmm! Sweet candy without calories!! Yum!

I have a long-standing Memorial Day tradition, started when I was very young, thanks to my Dad. Even now that I live in Texas, I travel to my home turf in Oklahoma, to my tiny hometown of approximately 850 sweet people. One of the favorite parts of the weekend in taking flowers to my parents' side-by-side graves. Sounds like a very gloomy & sad event, but it is good for me, way down deep in the heart of me. I'm carrying on the same tasks that I shared so many times with Dad, just as he would like. So it's a loving thing, as well as a good thing! I hope that all of you will find a heartfelt sweetness this Memorial weekend!

I'd tell you what my favourite thing to do on Memorial Day weekend is... if we had Memorial Day weekend. :)

I'm from Australia. This weekend... got no plans. Laze about with the family.

FAMILY BARBACUE OF COURSE! GREAT CANDY, THANKS FOR SHARING!

Looks like super candy! We usually celebrate my oldest son's b-day (in fact, I have blog candy now too because of it). When he was younger we would go to a theme park because he loves them and they would usually open around his b-day. He turns 21 this year so that's not part of the plan. But, he wants us all to go to a theme park the day after his wedding in August. Funny kid!

Barbecues are the best on Memorial Day because it sorta starts off the Summer Season for me. This year we're building a patio, so no barbecues until that's done this year!

The kids will be home. We will cook out, go fishing, ride the 4 wheelers in the mountains, fish some more and eat again. Go to shucrh on Sunday and start the eating, fishing, riding thing all over again. Great family week-end.

First & foremost, I visit the cemetary to put flowers on the graves of my dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. Then we generally stay home and enjoy a weekend of barbeques, movies, and relaxation.

OMG! Awesome candy ;~)
thanks!

I usually take my 2 children up north for the weekend to spend at their uncle's cottage in Sand Lake just outside East Tawas/Tawas Bay.
I plan on planting my 5 flats of flowers when we get back on Monday.
As long as I'm not exhausted from the 175 mile drive back home.

My favorite thing to do on memorial weekend is the traditional family picnic on Sunday but the rest of the weekend is to lounge around doing what you want or doing nothing! I try to do nothing, that only happens once a year!!!

Congratulations! I'm not originally from this country but when I was first married and the girls where younger the Indy 500 was our thing. Now the girls are a bit older so we'll be participating at a parade with their Girl Scout troop. Thanks, Sandra Lew-Moll

Memorial weekend means going to my mother in laws with all the kids and BBQing brisket and ribs. Swimming in her pool and eating watermelon and ice cream. Just having an extra day of fun in the sun. Can't wait.

Fun question! Well, since I live in Indy...I *have* to listen to the Indy 500 race! Been to the race several times, but now that I'm older, I would rather spend the day with some family and radio and some good grilled hamburgers! Just picked up the first seedless watermelon of the season! Yum!
